My Story...My Mission
I am a pediatric occupational therapist with 16 years of experience supporting children and families across a variety of settings. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Boston College and my master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. I began my career in Early Intervention, an area of practice that continues to be an important part of my work today. My professional experience also includes five years at a specialized private school serving children with diverse developmental, sensory, behavioral, and learning needs.
After years of working alongside children, families, educators, and other professionals, I opened my own pediatric occupational therapy practice to create an environment where services could be individualized, welcoming, and responsive to each child’s unique strengths and needs.
As a first generation business owner in Rhode Island, I could not be more excited to live out my dream while having a positive impact in my local community. Optimal Therapy serves children with a wide range of developmental and neurodivergent needs, including autism, sensory processing differences, Down Syndrome, developmental delays, and other diagnoses. My approach is child-centered and family-focused, with an emphasis on helping children develop the skills they need to participate more successfully and confidently in everyday life.
Recognizing that inclusion should extend beyond therapy, I also created a customized birthday celebration program within my clinic! Traditional party venues can be loud, crowded, and overwhelming for children with sensory and developmental differences. My goal was to offer families an alternative: a smaller, comfortable, familiar environment where children can celebrate in a way that feels safe, meaningful, and fun!
Birthday celebrations can be customized around each child’s interests and favorite characters while also considering sensory preferences, developmental needs, and the overall comfort of the child and their guests. I remain on site throughout celebrations to help ensure that the environment is safe, organized, and supportive.
Families can choose from several levels of customization, ranging from space rental to more detailed themed celebrations that may include customized décor and balloon arrangements.
My goal is simple: to create a space where children of all abilities can receive meaningful therapeutic support—and where they can also experience the joy of being celebrated exactly as they are.
